The Quality Show of the Midwest

Dear MAAC Member,

We hope you enjoyed our September show. Our attendance was down slightly due to the delightful weather, but our table sales were brisk at 475 sold.

MAAC would like to thank Mr. John Bassett and Mr. Larry Serdoner for their outstanding display "Trouble on the Border". This display was also featured at the NRA Show and won for MAAC the Best Educational Award and the award for The Best Accoutrements and Related Items. We would like to also thank Mr. Walt House from Kansas, Mr. Bruce Daniel from New Mexico and Mr. Ed Curtis from Texas for their excellent combined display on "Remington Rolling Block Sporting Rifles". In addition, a special thanks to Mr. David Nixon of Michigan for his terrific display "The Other Buffalo Rifle". Thank you gentlemen for your effort and contributions to our September MAAC show. Look for the MAAC displays to be featured in upcoming issues of The Gun Report. Also look for Chris Yagley's display on the 34th Illinois Infantry at the November show. Please contact MAAC President Gary Christmann if you would like to put on a display for a future MAAC show.

MAAC currently has positions open on the Board of Directors. If you are interested in filling one of these positions and working for your organization, please submit a resume to Joyce Christmann (Secretary) by the close of the November show.

Board Announcements:

  • In order to encourage show sales your Board of Directors suggest that vendors freshen up their tables and be realistic about pricing of items to be sold.
  • A reminder that all "repro's" must be labeled as such. If you have any questions about authenticity, please see Greg Zemsta.
  • Look for MAAC show flyers at local sporting goods stores, gun shops, gun shows, etc. The flyers will offer a $1.00 discount on the price of admission to any 2010 MAAC show. The flyer must be presented with your admission fee. Any questions call Show Manager Larry Serdoner @ 586-463-1719.
  • MAAC will offer a table holders raffle at our November 2009 show. The raffle drawing will be on Sunday @ 2:45 p.m. You will need to be there at that time for the drawing. The raffle will be for free tables @ the February 2010 show.

Please remember not to pack up your tables before 4:45 p.m. on Saturday and 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. Also, Show Manager Larry Serdoner requests that you please remember to provide table covers for your tables. All tables must be covered and MAAC does not provide them! In addition, Larry needs you to order and pay for your tables no later than two weeks prior to each show. No tables will be guaranteed to anyone after that time! Thank you for your support and for adhering to MAAC show rules. We look forward to seeing you at the November 2009 show.

G. Christmann

MAAC President
